Our Talent Development Program (TDP) is designed to develop our leaders of tomorrow and support the future business growth of CEMEX. During this challenging 12-18 month program, you will learn how be a subject-matter expert through hands-on work experience, develop leadership skills, and participate in training from industry and leadership experts. By the end of your TDP program, you will have grown as a professional to better help you succeed in your career!
Talent Development Program Talent Towers:
As part of the Talent Development Program, you will be put into one of our four talent towers. The talent towers are broken down by business line- Cement, Ready-Mix Concrete, Aggregates and Corporate. Read on to learn more about the talent towers and what former TDPs gained from the program.
As a Cement Talent Development Professional (TDP), you will be put in a rotation program to better understand the different aspects of the start-to-finish production cycle of cement. During each rotation, you will have a set of learning objectives and assignments. Along with that, you will gain experience in project management, technical training, outage support, and much more.
The TDP program has provided me the knowledge and confidence early in my career to be a leader that can making important decisions, as well as inspire confidence in my colleagues that I am a trustworthy source for information and job performance.
As a Ready-Mix Talent Development Professional (TDP), you will be put in a rotation program to better understand the different aspects of the safe production of Ready-Mix concrete. During each rotation, you will have a set of learning objectives and assignments. Along with that, you will gain experience in quality control, customer service, maintenance and much more.
Completing the TDP program was the best thing that could have happened for my career. Coming into Cemex, I had little experience in the construction and building materials industry. The TDP program was the landmark I needed to get me started on the right path.
As an Aggregates Talent Development Professional (TDP), you will be put in a rotation program to better understand the different aspects of the safe production of aggregates. During each rotation, you will have a set of learning objectives and assignments. Along with that, you will gain experience in pit operations, quality control, maintenance, and much more.
As a TDP, the professionals you network with, along with the training opportunities, ultimately make you a well-rounded employee and successful in your permanent role. 10/10 would recommend the program.
As a Corporate Talent Development Professional (TDP), you will be based in Houston, Texas working in our Corporate office. You will participate in projects within our support functions, which are designed to provide valuable, firsthand experience in the building materials industry and excellent opportunities for networking and professional growth. Some of the departments you will be placed in could be strategic planning, logistics, HR, and more.
The TDP program helped me to learn more about CEMEX. Everyone you meet wants you to learn so that you can be a future leader of CEMEX. Thanks to the TDP program I’ve been able to experience so much more than if I wouldn’t have joined.
Talent Development Program candidate profile:
- Education: Four-year college degree in related area (Engineering, Business Administration, Construction Management, Concrete Industry Management, etc.)
- Good Academic Standing
- Demonstrated capability of conducting hands on field work
- Unlimited leadership potential
- Willingness to relocate domestically
- 4 years or less post bachelor’s degree (experience in the related industry preferred)
