Internship - CEMEX USA
HANDS ON EXPERIENCE
“This internship program has added a great value to my career. Having a hands-on experience was a goal I had been looking for in an internship. I have had the opportunity to see how all our different sources come together to form our final product, ready-mix concrete.” - Xochitl Garcia, Ready-Mix Intern- Texas A&M UniversityApply Now

Corporate internships are offered in many departments including strategic planning, logistics, HR, communications, sustainability, and more. Corporate internships combine on-the-job training with structured learning opportunities. Our corporate interns participate in projects within our support functions.
These projects are designed to provide valuable, firsthand experience in the building materials industry and excellent opportunities for networking and professional growth. Corporate internships are office-based and may be a good fit for someone majoring in finance, supply chain, engineering, human resources, and other business concentrations.
Cement is the main ingredient of ready-mix concrete. Whether in bags or bulk, CEMEX provides its customers with high-quality branded cement products for their construction needs. The most widely used construction material worldwide, cement is a fine powder, obtained from the calcination at 1,450°C of a mix of limestone, clay, and iron ore.
Cement interns will gain experience in maintenance, production, clinker, and raw meal. Cement may be a good fit for a student majoring in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mining engineering and industrial engineering. Other engineering degrees may also be considered.
Concrete is a composite consisting of the following main constituents: cement, aggregates, water, and admixtures. CEMEX does not “simply manufacture concrete”, but develops innovative solutions based on the thorough knowledge and application of concrete technology. We also constantly work to advance the sustainability of structures made with concrete. In this way, our customers can design sustainable buildings that can take advantage of the benefits of concrete in a wide range of applications.
Ready-Mix interns will gain experience in quality control, customer service, maintenance, and sales. Ready-Mix Concrete may be a good fit for a student majoring in engineering, business, construction management, concrete industry management, or other related degrees.
Aggregates are composed of geological materials such as stone, sand and gravel and are used in virtually all forms of construction. They can be used in their natural state or can be crushed into smaller pieces. Aggregates are an indispensable ingredient in ready-mix concrete, asphalt and mortar. Accounting for approximately 60% to 75% of ready-mix concrete’s volume, aggregates strongly influence concrete’s freshly mixed and hardened properties. Aggregates not only increase concrete’s strength, but also can make the mix more compact, enabling applications such as weatherproofing and heat retention.
Aggregate interns will gain experience in pit operations, plant maintenance, shipping, loadout, and sales. Aggregates may be a good fit for a student majoring in engineering, business, construction management, concrete industry management or other related degrees
We want our interns to gain experience that aligns with their majors and challenges them to push beyond their limits. We care about the development of our people and our interns are no exception. Ultimately, we want our interns to gain tools and skills that will serve them well in their future career endeavors, and an opportunity to join CEMEX through our TDP Program upon graduation. Applications are accepted year-round until mid-spring.
